Becky Greseth
Welcome to Third Grade!  My name is Becky Greseth.  I look forward to working with your child this year!!

Please see the third grade tab for great websites!

Here are some of my classroom policies:
Birthdays If you child wishes to bring a birthday treat, it must be single serving, store bought. Please NO cakes or cookie cakes. These are hard to cut equally and take up too much time to serve! Thank you for understanding!
We are using the reading series CIA.  We will read chapter books together.
Students will also be grouped in small, flexible groups for additional instruction. This is called Guided Reading. While I work with small groups, the other students will be expected to “Read to Self” to practice reading and become more fluent readers.
We have 30 minutes of "Action 100" reading time.  During this time I confere one-one with students.  Students should read 30 minutes or 2 steps at home.

We continue to use Everyday Math. Please practice math facts at home nightly!  Students usually have a homelink every night.

DISCIPLINE POLICY         In my classroom I reward positive actions with stars. Students collect stars and then are able to purchase rewards at the“star store” every 2 weeks or so. Students will "change" cards for inappropriate behavior. You will receive a letter home if a student gets the third card turned in one day.  Please refer to the student handbook for a complete description of the school’s use of minors and major conduct reports.
Snacks    Snacks are important for students. We need them to help us keep our energy and focus. Research shows that students perform better if they eat healthy, nutritious snacks. Because of this I have a healthy snack policy. I allow students to bring a healthy, single-serving snack per day. They can enjoy this when they choose. Please, no chips, cookies, or candy! Fruit, crackers, animal crackers, veggies, fruit snacks are examples of healthy snacks.
Please email me with with any questions/concerns!
